Explorers Against Extinction

Ingwe the Young Female Leopard

I am absolutely thrilled to be invited to exhibit with Explorers Against Extinction again this year.  Instead of submitting a 26 minute sketch I have donated my gorgeous painting of Ingwe, the young female leopard, that my daughter photographed near Shimuwini Bush Camp in The Kruger National Park South Africa.

Ingwe was a Finalist in International Artist Magazine Wildlife Competition 2017 and appeared in their June/July copy of the magazine that has a worldwide circulation.

All the artworks will be available to for via online auction. The auction will be  open for registrations from 1st September through to Sunday 17th November, 2019. All profit from the sale of artwork is donated to nominated conservation projects. You will be able to place a bid for Ingwe from 1st September.

Ingwe’s compelling gaze is what caught my attention and I wanted to capture that imposing look in paint.

I used Unison  soft  pastels and pastel pencils  on PastelMat my preferred medium for capturing the essence and definition of an animal. Ingwe is mounted and framed with very high quality acrylic glass.
