I had always wanted to visit Rye Meads Nature Reserve run by the RSPB. Its not far from where I live but difficult to find. There was ample parking and the Reserve was a mix of reed beds, open meadows and open water. From one of the hides we were fortunate to see a beautiful kingfisher that flitted from branch to a nearby post giving sufficient time to take some lovely photos.
This is start of my painting of the lovely Kingfisher in pastel pencil on Pastelmat board 25 x 35cm
