Today is World Tiger Day

The Sumatran Tiger

As today is World Tiger Day I wanted to share my pastel painting of the Sumatran Tiger with you. Sadly the only time I have ever seen this particular species was at The Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent here in the UK, but he was a magnificent animal, very majestic and imposing at the same time.

This painting is entitled “Watching” was painted in Unison Soft Pastels and pastel pencils and was created for one of the ABUN Projects – an Exhibition featuring Endangered  Animals and Their Habitat in the USA.  You could say he is a well travelled Tiger as he was also a finalist in The David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of The Year Exhibition at The Mall Galleries London. I think a worthy representative for Tigers on World Tiger Day.

The original painting, which has a black mount and frame is for sale and there are Giclee Prints and greeting cards still available. If you are interested please get in touch at info@judithmackay.comin Unison Soft Pastels.
